Chapter Thirty-Two

“SO WHAT NOW, mate?”Trinity purred, licking the length of his shaft before she straddled him. “Do we try to sleep or spend the rest of the night doing what we do best?”

“What do you think?” He tried to pull a hand free from where she’d bound it to the headboard, but it wasn’t budging. She had done it up well with magic. So he bent his legs, forcing her to shift forward, then thrust up and filled her. “We can sleep after this is all over.”

“I agree,” she groaned, not moving. Simply enjoying the sensation of being filled by him yet again. They had been at it for hours, more than making up for lost time. Even better? They were doing it at the Sigdir Lair, where they had spent so much time when young. Somewhere they ended up shunning because they craved the Keep too much. Craved the presence of Múspellsheimr dragons.

Of course, they had redecorated the place to suit their sexual appetites.

“So, do you think Goddess Carman will be surprised?” Trinity wondered. “Or will she in some unknown godly way know we’re coming?”

He grinned, reflecting on what they had done to Violence.

He was trapped in the residual magic of Vicar’s incarnate until they said so. Then, and only then, rather than use him as bait and have Carman come to them, they would unleash the enemy into Múspellsheimr. He was so greatly weakened, hewouldflee back to Carman. When he did, not just Vicar and Trinity would follow but Thor and Loki. Violence would, as Trinity phrased it, become a Trojan horse, bringing the Norse behind enemy lines right into the heart of Celtic territory. From there, they would attack from the inside out.

Attack until Carman and Mórrígan were finished off.

“Carman won’t know we’re coming,” Vicar reminded, answering her question, adoring how powerful Trinity had become. He had too, but he appreciated her strength almost more than his own. “She won’t know because Violence won’t be warning her.”

“Right.” She shifted just enough to make him groan with approval. “Because even though we’re unleashing Violence, he’s still very much an animal on a chain. An animal whose mind is controlled by us thanks to him meddling so much in our lives.” She chuckled and traced her finger over the tattoo on his chest, enjoying the trail of fiery red left in its wake. “In the end, Violence was his own worst enemy, causing his own problems.” She flicked her tongue over his lips and threaded her fingers with one of his bound hands. “Now he’s ours to use however we’d like.”

Since Forging, they had been able to more easily switch between their two halves. Moreover, they enjoyed it. Liked the feeling of combining the four of them into something that satisfied all their needs, both of the heart and of the flesh.

“So what are we to make of Tor’s behavior after he ended up with Loki’s Dagger?” she wondered. “Because he seemed far too torn for my taste. Should he stay and try to keep Loki away from Revna? Or should he head to the future to see if he can approach Raven without us?”

Because they really needed to stay here, putting their plan with Violence in motion.

“Your Aunt Elsie claims Raven’s alive and well and in one of her trances,” Vicar said. “So now would be the best time for Tor to approach her. To figure out how to protect her.”

“A plan of action Revna agrees with,” she replied dryly. “Why wouldn’t she when she and Loki were off to do God knows what with each other?”

She might not have known Revna long, but she felt the same aggravation as Vicar over her behavior. And he appreciated it because it meant Trinity cared for Tor. That she would look after him every bit as much as Vicar would.

“Maybe we should go with him to the future,” Trinity’s worried, sweeter side said. “Maybe we should—”

“No.” He shook his head. “Tor and Raven will be all right. Maya, Dagr, Jade, and Thorulf will be there. We must be here, and you know that.”
