“Is everything okay?” I asked, concerned.

Michael’s green eyes lifted from his plate and met my stare. “Yes, everything’s great. I just… I’ve never had someone make me breakfast before. Outside of a restaurant where I pay them for it, that is.” His eyes softened and he reached across the table to grab my hand and lift it to his lips. “Thank you, Angel.”

My heart broke at his words. No one had ever taken care of him before, and not even in the simplest way of just preparing him food. He might refer to me as his Princess, but I was the one who was going to spoil him.

“Well, there’s more where that came from. So eat up, Mr. Bodacious.”

He almost spewed his coffee. “Mr. Bodacious?”

I batted my lashes at him. “Yep.”

Michael chuckled and took another drink of his coffee. “What do you want to do today?”

“I actually have to go to work at eleven, so I probably need to start getting dressed soon.” I wished I could stay there with him all day.

“Finish your breakfast first. You need to eat.” He nodded to my plate and looked back at me, a serious expression on his face.

I scooped up the last piece of my omelet and washed it down with a sip of coffee. “There. Happy?”

I stuck my tongue out at him. Childish, I know, but his overly protective Papa Bear attitude brought it out in me. I secretly loved it, though.

He scooted back from his chair and came over to me with the gait of a predator stalking his prey. I glanced up at him from my seat and then gasped when he picked me up and placed me on the table. My empty plate scattered to the floor, but neither of us cared. Michael positioned himself between my legs and started kissing me in a heated fashion.

Reaching around to his back, I grabbed his strong shoulders, softly running my nails down his skin.

He growled and deepened our kiss as he grabbed my hips and pulled me tighter against him. Love and lust both swept through me as I was held captive in his embrace. Our tongues danced together in an unhurried rhythm and I felt like I was suspended in time, completely mesmerized by the only man to ever capture my heart.

“Do you thinkthishairstyle orthisone would work best?” The blonde-haired girl sitting in the salon chair asked me as she held up two different pictures.

Both hairstyles would look awful on her; she had the wrong face shape for them.

I tapped the back of her chair as I pondered what to do. Being in this business, I found myself in this type of situation often, but I was amazing at my job and always figured it out. I stood behind her and played with her long, curly hair as I stared at her reflection in the large mirror in front of us.

“You know, honey,” I finally answered. “I actually have a completely different idea. You have gorgeous curly hair and those hairstyles wouldn’t do it justice. I was thinking of something that would really make those curls bounce, and maybe even add some highlights. If you trust me.”

I twirled a strand of her hair around one of my fingers as I pictured the perfect hairstyle.

“Uh.” She looked nervously at her reflection and then looked up at me. “You seem like you know what you’re doing. I guess you can do it.” She gave me a shaky smile.

“Don’t worry, you’re in great hands with this one.” Kaylee, my manager, walked up behind us and smacked me on the ass. “Trust him, he knows what he’s talking about.”

The girl laughed and nodded with more enthusiasm. “Okay. He looks gorgeous so if he can make me look half as good as him, I’ll be good.”

I dramatically fanned myself. “Oh, girls, stop it. You’re giving me a big head.”

Kaylee gave me a shit-eating grin and walked off to help another client.

Turning my attention back to the girl in the chair, I smiled. “Let me go mix that color up and I’ll be right back.”

An hour and a half later, I was finished. And the girl looked fabulous. After styling her hair, I fluffed it a little and then turned the chair around for her to look in the mirror.

“Oh my god!” She brought her hands up to touch her hair. “It looks amazing!”

I cut about five inches off, which caused her curls to spring up and spiral beautifully around her face. Since her hair was blonde, I added some darker lowlights in the lower layers and bleach blonde highlights on top to make the color pop.

Damn, I did great work.
