“Yes,” Kelsey breathed, pressing closer to Mythia. Her eyes were dilated, and the pulse at the base of her neck was racing. Mythia reached up and trailed her fingers along Kelsey’s temple, down to her chin.

Mythia inhaled the faint scent of Kelsey’s arousal.

Her hand continued its trek. She traced Kelsey’s lips, still swollen from her kisses, down to her throat, and then to her chest. She brushed her thumb over Kelsey’s areola, teasing her. Kelsey’s nipples grew into taut buds, pushing against the material of the dress.

Mythia had to stop this before they did end up back in bed.

She wrapped her arm around Kelsey so she could teleport them to the vault. “Come.”

“Don’t you ever just walk through the castle?”

Mythia shrugged. “Once in a while.”

“Will you give me the official tour?”

“But of course.” Tightening her hold on Kelsey, she focused on where she wanted to go. They immediately vanished from the bedroom and arrived outside the vault within seconds.

“Hey,” Kelsey laughed as she stepped away from Mythia, taking a look at her surroundings. “I thought you were going to give me a tour?”

“We can do that later. The castle has been here for hundreds of years. It’s not going anywhere.” Mythia took her hand and walked to the large steel door.

“You know, I thought the medallion would be in here,” Kelsey admitted. She moved to stand before Mythia and rested her hands on it. Turning around, she leaned her back against it. “I assumed that since the castle was so old, the vault would be something I could jimmy a lock and break into.”

“Is that so?” Mythia moved in front of Kelsey, trapping her against the door. She leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. “You just assumed that I never updated anything here?”

“How was I supposed to know? Now that I think of it, for someone worth billions, you should have the latest technology.”

“And how do you know how much I’m worth? Were you researching me?” Mythia kissed her again.

“For someone who has lived a long life such as you, I’d be worried if you weren’t worth a lot of money.”

Mythia barked out a hefty laugh. She would have to agree. She didn’t think she knew any dragon shifters who were poor.

She dragged herself away from Kelsey and moved over to the panel on the wall. Entering her numeric password, she then placed her fingertips on the scanner. The locking mechanisms sounded as the vault opened. Kelsey jumped away from it and came to stand my Mythia.

She took her mate’s hand in hers, pride filling her chest. She had worked so hard for so long, and now the final moment was upon her.

The door opened halfway and then stopped. There was enough room for them to walk through. Mythia guided Kelsey behind her. The floodlights turned on as they moved past the initial opening.

“Oh, my.” Kelsey released Mythia’s hand and walked ahead of her. The room was filled with countless rows of shelving. Mythia had tried to remain as organized as she could. She never was one to just pile everything up to the ceiling. She had wanted her mate to be able to locate and find whatever treasure she wanted or needed.

Mythia tried to see the room through Kelsey’s eyes.

Her mate ambled over to a table that held many baskets on it, each one holding something interesting.

She trailed behind Kelsey, her heart pounding a mile a minute. She had faced down the deadliest of foes in hand-to-hand combat, fought vicious dragons, vampires, and other shifters in her lifetime, yet nothing came close to the amount of fear that was mounting inside of her.

What if this wasn’t enough?

“This is beautiful.” Kelsey reached into a basket and pulled out a jeweled hair-clip encrusted with diamonds and emeralds. The diamonds sparkled in the light. Replacing it, she backed away from the table and turned around in a circle, taking in the entire room.

Her gaze landed on Kelsey.

“You collected all of this?”

She jerked her head in a nod since her tongue was stuck to the roof of her mouth. Kelsey spun back around and kept walking. Her feet sped up as she went to another table, then over to a shelving unit. Her face lit up at countless items that she touched. Mythia continued to trail behind her, enjoying Kelsey’s reactions.

Kelsey came to the canvas that depicted two naked women lying on a plush chaise. It was Mythia’s favorite piece. She didn’t say a word as she stared at it. Minutes passed before she turned to Mythia.
