“Why not just leave Ashley,” Doc finally says and I look at him wide-eyed like he’s the biggest idiot at the table despite being our Pres and best friend but he ignores my look and most likely everyone else’s around this table and he states, “She is the sweetest girl in this whole town, put you first for years, brought your son into the world and yet you felt the need to go elsewhere. Why because you haven’t lived?” he shakes his head as he runs a hand through his black hair and huffs, “I understand some brothers cheat, they like to sleep around,” he looks my way before looking back at a guilt ridden Trigger, But that’s because the women have trapped them, lied to them and they’re stuck. You have a woman who gave you an out. She told you when she found out she was pregnant, if you want to walk away, you could because she couldn’t bear the thought of killing your child.”

Trigger’s jaw ticks and I know he’s going to get trigger happy if I don’t cut in.

I say, “We understand you love her, Trig. We all see it, but you doing this, it’s going to destroy her. We can’t really understand why, especially when you’re doing it right under her nose. You moved Virginia into the clubhouse, you’ve screwed her in the pantry while your wife and son were in the common room…”

Ashley believes she’s a clubwhore – a woman who cooks and cleans for board but also likes to fuck the brothers – when really she only sleeps with her husband and smirks at the poor unsuspecting woman every day.

He’s doing it right underneath her nose, and when she finds out, which she will, he will lose his family. He has to know that.

“She stopped sleeping with me!” he finally snaps, and I frown as he sits forward, linking his fingers on the table and admits, “A year ago, she went out grocery shopping, came back, and stopped even looking my way. She barely spoke for two weeks, didn’t let me touch her, and kept her phone hidden. I got drunk believing she was cheating on me, having an affair…”

His words trail off, and Tank finishes, “So you thought you’d get even without even speaking to her?”

He nods and replies, “Yeah, and I felt guilty as shit, but she continued to ignore me, and a year later, I have barely had any affection from my wife. Two months ago, we slept together after an argument but as soon as we were done, she got up and went for a shower.”

The brothers all wince and he sits back and states, “I get no affection, no love from my wife. No connection which is what Virginia gives me and while I don’t love her and I feel like shit every time I touch her, it’s something I need,” his jaw tick, “And we all know I won’t allow my wife to leave me, she’s my one and she probably knows that. So this is the situation we’re now in, both sleeping with someone else and yeah I want to kill whoever she’s fucking but this is the route I decided to go instead.”

I frown and ask, “Do you really believe she would cheat on you?”

He shrugs and admits, “I don’t know anymore, my fun, sweet, caring wife has been gone for a year and she’s been spending a lot of time at the grocery store when she’s not on shift,” he looks around the table, “Now that you’ve all made me feel like shit about my crappy marriage and a wife who clearly doesn’t want me anymore because we got together way too young and had a kid before we were ready, shall we continue with church?”

It’s a cop out. He knows it and we all know it. He’s come up with scenarios in his head which may not even be real but decided they were just so he can get away with fucking the ex-high school cheerleader.

Doc clears his throat, then nods as he asks, “How’s Rebel’s Arts?”

“Business is good, clients are in every day,” Trigger mutters, then nothing else, clearly pissed but I don’t know what he expected. Ashley is family as much as he is and he knows this.None of us have told her what he’s doing and when she finds out, all of us can kiss her goodbye.

Instead of speaking to her, he used her coldness as an excuse to live out his glory days that he missed out on.

Doc nods before he looks at me and asks, “Rebel’s Phoenix?”

I swallow hard, side eyeing Trigger before I answer, “The dance club is doing good revenue-wise, but drugs have been showing up in the bathrooms. I noticed a Cannibal member coming out of the ladies where it was found, along with a woman on a high and thoroughly fucked.”

The brothers curse, and I nod.

While we distribute drugs, we don’t do it in town. Instead, we do it with the Cartel, and the Cannibal group is beginning to become a pain in the ass. Their members always popping up.

I’m also pretty sure my wife is fucking three of them.

“We need to send a message, they can’t keep doing this shit, we’ll get shut down,” Tank mutters, and I nod in agreement, and Doc agrees, “I’ll contact Cannon after church.”

We all nod. Cannon is their leader, and normally, we have a good relationship with him, so either he has a traitor wanting a war that they know he won’t win. Or he wants our territory.

Doc bangs the gavel to cement it, then states to me, “Go to the club tonight, but don’t wear your cut, see if you can find who's giving the shit out, maybe watch in your office for a while first,” and I nod before he looks at Tank and Dirty and asks, “How's Rebel’s Motors?”

Dirty answers, “Going steady, customers come in every day, money is good,” and Tank confirms, “The book is full for the next three months and we’re still getting calls.”

The brothers bang the table in celebration, and I grin.

Customers mean money meaning us officer brothers get an extra ten percent more than the rest of the club.

Doc looks towards Anchor and asks, “How’s Rebel’s Honeys?”

Anchor groans, “Revenue is good, money through the roof, but the women, fuck me, they are a pain in the ass. Yesterday, Brandy physically dragged Candy away from a high-paying client. Thankfully, he found it hot and entertaining, but if they did that shit with the wrong person…”

I wince and remind him, “They’re our two highest paying strippers,” and he groans again, making me smirk.

The women are crazy as fuck, especially where money is involved, but good at what they do.
