“No winking at other people.” I bit back theno looking at people who aren’t me, eitherthat was on the tip of my tongue. I’d ease Apple into the reality of what it meant to claim me like he had. He’d woken up something inside me that I wasn’t entirely prepared, or willing, to rein in.
Ugh. I was going to have to work so hard not to be completely toxic.
Apple gave me a look that bordered on pornographic. “You got it. No winking at anyone who isn’t you, my love.”
Gareth gave an uncomfortable cough. “I’m willing to give Apple a chance to be an asset to us, so after Apple signs this, I don’t think we need to keep you two here any longer. We can talk about any other questions you have about the rules tomorrow.” He handed Apple a pen, and after reading the rest of the rules to himself, Apple used my knee as a table to sign his name on the paper before giving it back to Gareth.
Apples hips were rocking back and forth on my thigh by the time he was done. I needed to get him out of there.
Vix scrambled to his feet, face bright red, and reached a hand out to haul Baz out off the couch while saying, “Now that you live here, Apple, you both have to come to the house meeting tomorrow to discuss the thing, so don’t bang all night long.”
“Do we really have to do it tomorrow morning? For fuck’s sake, Vix. Yu know how I feel about getting up early.” Baz flopped over in protest, becoming dead weight, and Vix had to struggle to pull his friend to his feet. He only managed it because they were roughly the same size.
“It’s either that or explain the problem while watching these two try not to fuck right in front of us. Hot? Yes, but I don’t want Adam to murder me if I pop a boner over his new husband when they start dry-humping each other.”
Baz stopped resisting, slung an arm around Vix’s waist, and gave him a peck on the cheek. “Sorry. It’s been all day for you, hasn’t it? Fine, I’ll stop being an asshole, but we’re doing it inyourroom this time. I’m out of towels.”
“Sure, sure.”
“Are they together? I thought they were brothers…” Apple asked as Baz and Vix walked out of the room draped over each other.
“No and no. It’s… complicated.” Far more complicated than I had words for. Especially since I’d rather have Apple’s attention on me than on my randy housemates.
“But they still play around with each other? Interesting…” Apple watched them as they went up the stairs, his speculative eyes gleaming.
“I think it’s likely a comfort thing, but… Can you stop thinking about our housemates banging?”
It was making me feel stabby, and I was pretty sure I couldn’t take Baz in a fight. Especially since Vix would ambush me from behind if I tried, and he had at least two dangerous devices on him at all times. And while he wouldn’t try to use them offensively, with my luck, they would both explode at the same time and take out everyone in the house.
That left using my words to solve the problem.
“I’m sorry. Was I making you feel jealous?” Apple jumped up and turned to straddle my lap and peer up at me with soft, warm eyes. They were so full of love it made my heart begin to pound in my chest. “You have nothing to worry about, Adam. Ever. Why would I want to get naked with the danger twins when I could have you? There’s no contest. Not even close.”
“You kept staring at them.”
“I know, but I couldn’t help it. They look like twins, but they have a seriouscloser-than-brothersvibe. And then you tell me they aren’t related? I can’t help but want to know more. Fuck all that, though. I’d far rather be climbing you.” Apple rubbed against me suggestively. “My very own giant Apple tree.”
Gareth cleared his throat, reminding me that he was still in the room. “That’s my cue to leave. It was good to meet you. Welcome to the collective.”
Then Gareth ruined his kind words by giving Apple anI hope I don’t have to kill you laterface.
Maybe Apple wasn’t as in as I had hoped. It didn’t matter—I had full confidence in Apple’s ability to charm everyone in the house.
Besides, if for some insane reason he couldn’t (like my bad luck tempering his good luck too much. Don’t give me that look, you know there’s a chance of it.) and Gareth decided Apple was a threat, I would threaten to go to Vix’s warehouse of gadgets and gizmos. The whole place would go up in a mushroom cloud within minutes.
Gareth would never risk it.
If worse came to worse, he would just make us leave, which would be a better outcome than losing Apple because my found family killed him.
All thoughts of doom and gloom escaped me when Apple began bouncing gently on my dick.
I stood up, taking him with me. Apple’s face was too pretty when he got like this. Everyone had left the room, but what if someone came back and saw it?
Mushroom cloud.
I carried him to the hallway leading to my room, and he got so squirmy I had to set him down.
“Don’t be so wiggly. I can’t carry you like that.” I took hold of the part of his body that was the worst offender. The source of the wiggles.
