“Yeah.” Anke replied sheepishly. “Makes sense. What about Barbie?”

“Ah yes.” Miracle smiled fondly. “She is the sniper of the team—silent, yet deadly.”

“So—I still don’t get why they call her Barbie and not something likeSilent Nightor…Cyanide.”

“Well, her nickname has nothing to do with work. It’s because she is a fashionista.”

Anke arched a brow. “Fashionista? Sabine?”

Miracle nodded. “They think it's funny because when people hear them call her Barbie, people underestimate her until she puts a bullet between their eyes from a football field away.”

“Wow,” Anke mused.

“Yeah. She’s badass.”

“How did you and Beast meet? If you don’t mind me asking.”

“I don’t mind at all.” Miracle glanced over to where Mouth was on the balcony. “Actually, I love telling the story. I came to Germany to research my dissertation. Somehow, I got embroiled in a whole thing with a neo nazi who tried to kill me—It’s a long story. I called the only person I knew of who could help me and he sent Beast and his guys—and gal.”

“Who’d you call?”

“Tex.”

Anke tilted her head. “Why call Tex? He’s American—isn’t he?”

“He is—but if anyone can help you with anything, it’s Tex. Besides, I’ve known him for a while. No matter what I needed, he’d have my back. It wasn’t hard falling for Beast. As dangerous as he looks and even though we argue sometimes, I know he loves me deeply.”

Anke sighed. “I wanted that.”

“Past tense?”

“Let’s just say, I’ve never had very good luck with men.”

“We either.” Miracle stretched her legs out. “But, somehow my life went full circle and brought me to Beast. He’s supported me, even after I came out of the whole ordeal with a kick ass case of PTSD.”

“Do you think Pitbull is like Beast?”

Miracle smirked. “See something you like, eh?”

Anke’s cheeks heated. She rubbed a palm against them. How could she not like a man who would give her control of his body then rock her world? How could she not like a man who was so large yet held her as if she was the most fragile thing in the world? He could she not like a man who’d grabbed her hair, then spanked her until she was nothing but a watery, blissful mess?

“He’s not bad on the eyes, is all.” Anke couldn’t meet Miracle’s stare then. “But I know once this whole deal is over with his sister, I’ll go back to little-ole-Hennef and he will once again be Pitbull.”

“Why can’t there be both? It’s not like Hennef is North Carolina.” Miracle leaned in. “I left my life across the world to be with Beast because I saw something in him and what I felt told me he was worth it. Sure, what you feel for Pitbull isn’t love—yet. But every love starts with an attraction, right?”

“Right.”

“Some unsolicited advice?”

Anke smiled and looked up at Miracle. “Sure.”

“There is no need to be nervous. You’re a beautiful woman. And from what I can tell, you are intelligent and you don’t spit when you talk.”

Anke laughed.

“When this is over.” Miracle continued. “Take Pitbull aside and say to him,Pit—I’d like to take you out for a drink.”

“It can’t be that easy.”
