“Not yet, but I have a pretty good idea who it is. We sent Baxter and Roland to work with Ari. We mostly cleared them, but Ari’s getting a read on them, too, since they’re in such close proximity. So far, they’re clean and stepped up to protect Gavin when we were under attack. You already know we cleared Ari and his team. That just leaves the friend, Amber.” I tell them what we planned about setting Amber up and what happened after. “Since then, it’s been radio silence, but that might just be hurt feelings. I have no fucking idea right now. Charlie admitted to putting Brady in place. What’s to say he didn’t do the same with Amber?”

“Is there any other way to set her up without putting Chelsea in danger?” Les asks. “Because if she fucked her over for two years, I’m going to be pissed.”

I smile at that, thankful that she has Les and the girls. Iknowthey’re loyal, and Chelsea needs people like that in her life outside of us. “We will be too, but no one will be more pissed and hurt than Chels.”

“I get that.” Les shrugs. “She has us now, so we’ll be there to help her through it too.”

I nod and stand up. “It’s time to move. I have something for you guys in the garage.” I let them walk out and grab Nolan’s arm to stop him from leaving.

Not only am I worried about Chelsea, I’m worried about him too. I pull him to me, kissing him slowly. I push everything that I feel into the kiss, promising myself I won’t say the three little words under pressure like this. Nolan deserves to hear them when nothing is pushing me to say them. I pull back and rub my thumb across his bottom lip. “I just need you to know how important you are to me.”

“I know now. I would have argued about it before, but I feel like I’m a true part of the family now.”

“Always, Naughty boy.”

I grab his hand and lead him to the garage. “Is that a fucking grenade launcher?!” Gage exclaims. “I’m riding with whoever has that motherfucker.”

I laugh and shake my head. “You sound like Cole.”

“Pretty girl,” Gage pouts. “Can we keep it when we’re done?”

Les rolls her eyes and gestures to the case. “Dex, take it with you, and yes, we can keep it.”

“Holy shit! I love you.” Gage bends Les at the waist and kisses her hard like we aren’t standing here.

A throat clears behind me, and I turn around to find Chelsea smiling at the situation in front of her. Gage sets a flushed Les back on her feet. “Hey, Chels,” Les says with a laugh.

Gage pops a sloppy kiss on Chelsea’s cheek. “Hey, badass. You ready to do this thing?”

Chelsea blows a breath out. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

Les pulls her to the side to help her get into a bulletproof vest, talking low the whole time. I let them have their time because I know Les is giving her a pep talk. The rest of us start strapping ours on with our automatics.

Ryder walks over when they’re done and wraps his arm around Chelsea’s shoulders. “I promise I’ll keep your car in one piece. I can’t promise anything about the speed, though.”

Chelsea laughs. “She deserves to have a little fun, so go for it.”

Before long, we’re sliding into the vehicles, waiting on the signal from the others that we can move. I put Chelsea in the middle with Sean, Kai, and Cole in the back and Nolan beside me. We fixed our comms, so we’re all connected, and listen to them drive through the gate. Five minutes later, we start getting updates.

“I just picked up two tails,” Dex says.

“I have one,” Ryder replies. “Scratch that. I have two.”

“Lead them to Zane. He’s the first one you should come to, and he can pick them off,” Les adds. “Axel, move.”

I drop the SUV into reverse and head around the side of the house for the access road. As soon as we’re on it, I start getting that feeling you get when you’re being watched. I glance in the mirror and see the other guys wearing the same expressions because they feel it too.

“Here, Gorgeous,” Sean says, handing Chelsea an automatic. “Only use it if you need to but remember what we showed you.”

She gives him a nervous smile and takes it. “Is something wrong?”

“I think we’ve been spotted, but I’m not sure,” I answer. I speed up so we can get to the main road faster. We took back roads to Abbs Valley the last time and decided to take the highway this time, so hopefully, we can blend in. It takes two minutes on the highway to notice that we do, in fact, have a tail, and I relay that to Les.

“I’m going to lead them away from innocents and let Cole take them out.”

Les laughs. “And I’m sure that just didn’t make his day?”

“He’s already getting it out of the case,” Chelsea informs her. “And he just kissed it. I’m a little jealous.”
