I knew words wouldn’t work against my Alphas. They were far beyond any hope of recognizing my voice.

It sent fury rushing through me, momentarily muting my paralyzed state.

But I couldn’t be angry with Axel or Seif. My Alphas weren’t the ones to blame for this situation.

This had been carefully orchestrated by an Elder.

I will not let Amell win this sick game.

I clawed at the invisible strands around my airway as I sucked in a new breath. I needed time tothink.

The growls only increased in volume and persistence. They hadn’t pounced on me yet, which meant some form of lucidity remained.

Or they hadn’t yet decided who was going to get me first.

Meaning there would be a fight.

Blood.

And once a victor emerged, I would be next.

Shivering, I glanced up, wondering which Alpha would come out on top.

Which one would ravage me while I struggled with indecision.

Which one would shred my skin with his teeth and drink my blood and my Dust before knotting me and rendering any choice I might make a moot point.

Go ahead. Try.

See how that works out for you.

Because I wasn’t a feeble Omega ripe for the taking.

There was something inside of me thatburned. That demanded I receive the respect I deserved.

The darkness parted just enough for me to see two looming figures.

A thrill swept through me as I endured their scrutiny. They went still, as if just as mesmerized by me as I was by them.

Their eyes glowed with raw power. Silver Dust of the Web thrummed between them, heightened and primed for the medium to the universe I offered.

An Alpha was a powerful creature, one capable of ripping his enemies to shreds.

Or if lost to the Rut… ripping his Omega apart.

A strangled sound escaped my throat as fresh need made me whimper.

I was also afraid.

Not of them. I could handle these Alphas, but the future was another matter entirely.

Fear sent a new stranglehold tightening around my neck, momentarily even worse than the control collar, as it cut off my air. My mouth parted on a silent gasp. I wanted to be stronger than this. Iwasstronger than this, but right now, all I could see was the thousands of strands in the Web that ended in blood.

The Alpha on my right changed his growl to a rougher sound from deep within his chest.

The sound reverberated through my flesh and went straight between my legs, activating my Omega’s instincts to prime my body for what normally came after such a growl.

Violence.
