Sure, we're all adults with needs, but I haven't fucked my boyfriend yet either. The sexual tension between all of us is super fucking fun, too, so you won't hear any complaints from me.

I have her right where I want her, and when she's beneath me, the edging will be so fucking worth the wait.

"Well? You'll track me down and...what?"

Whirling around, I find Blue leaning against the wall leading into the kitchen. I blink, end the call, toss my phone on the counter, and cross my arms. As much as I would like to pick her up, splay her on the counter, and teach her a lesson, we aren't there yet.

But weareofficial, and if my woman doesn't want me feral, she will communicate. "Blue, where did you go? I was worried."

The sass slips from her face just a little as she studies me. Allowing her to see my feelings is uncomfortable, but it's getting easier. If I want communication, then I need to be willing to share my emotions too. Right? I think so. At least that's what my counselor said last week. I'll double-check tomorrow.

"Violet and I were on a?—"

"Don't say hike," I warn, just now noticing her workout clothes. She better have had a jacket on.

Blue narrows her eyes. "Hike."

"Damn it, Blue!" I throw my hands in the air. "You aren't healed enough to go on a hike."

What is she trying to do? Give me a fucking ulcerfrom worrying about her? She's reckless, and quite frankly, I have no idea how to deal with this.

"Felix, it's been over two weeks. My headaches come from screens only now. My bruises are almost faded, and my throat doesn't hurt. We only did a mile and a half."

Dragging my hand through my hair, I try really damn hard to calm down. I'm biting my tongue so damn hard and really wishing Roman were here to help me.

She shifts, dropping her arms to her side, and stands to her full height. The look on her face is contemplative yet fierce. "I just wanted to do something normal with Violet. Being cooped up in the house isn't normal for me. Honestly, I'm used to rarely being home."

Sighing, I shake my head. I need to get myself under control.

"I'm sorry for worrying you. Are you...mad? You're yelling," she says, sounding a bit confused.

I flinch, really not wanting Blue to think I'm angry with her. "No, sweetheart. I'm sorry. I just?—"

Ugh. Showing feelings is one thing, but talking about them is much harder. Blue approaches me and rests her hand on my chest. "You can talk to me, Felix."

Blowing out a breath, I slump against the counter and pull her to stand in front of me. "After everything, I really need you to communicate with me more. My therapist thinks this overbearing need to control stems from underlying fears and insecurities from my childhood and the trauma of losing you. Twice. Can youplease work with me by letting me know when you go somewhere and check in? At least for a while?"

Blue blinks up at me and smiles. "First," she begins, running her fingers over my scruffy cheek. "I'm so proud of you for finding a therapist. Though I am wondering how I didn't know about that."

My face heats.Damn it. "I wasn't ready for anyone to know. You scared it out of me I guess."

"I'm sorry. You're right. I'm just not used to checking in with anyone. Please be patient with me because there might be times I forget."

"Independent. Got it," I acknowledge and pull her hair from the ponytail. "Also?—"

"No," she shushes me with a finger on my lip. I'm so glad she doesn't need to bandage them anymore. "You don't get to gloat after hearing that you were right. Just ignore that I said those hideous words."

I laugh and kiss her finger. "That's not what I was going to say. We're taking you on a date. So go take a shower, and dress cute but comfy."

"Wait, really?" Blue beams, jumping on her toes. It's moments like this when I see some of Blue's bubbliness she carried in high school.

"Yep," I say and kiss her cheek. I twist her around and slap her leggings-clad ass to get her going.

She curses me and runs up the stairs. Hmm, spoiling her feels really damn good. I know what I want the rest of our lives to look like.
