“No.”

“Why not?”

My brows knit.

“What?” Did he want me to fuck his daughter?

“Is Trina not good enough for you?” Preston asked.

“No, I’m sure she’s fine…”

“Fine?” He growled. “Did you just call my daughter fine?”

Instead of getting that asshole taken care of, I was going to get myself killed. Emma was going to wake up and find me lying in a pool of blood with my heart next to me on the floor.

“No,” I scoffed. “Of course she’s better than fine. Trina is beautiful, gorgeous even. She’s just not for me.”

“She’s not for you?” Preston repeated. “Why? Because someone else is?”

Exactly how much did my uncle tell him? “Maybe?”

“Is this girl worth your life?”

There was no hesitation. “Yes.”

“Okay then.” Was all he said.

Did that mean he was going to kill me or not?

“Sooo, we’re good?” I asked.

“I guess you’ll find out when you break the contract.”

That wasn’t an answer, not that I’d argue it with him. I was already treading on thin ice. “Well, before you gut me would you mind doing it to someone else?”

“Do you have a certain someone in mind?”

“Adam Winston. He’s a professor at my university.”

“What did he do, give you a bad grade?”

“Why did he have to do something.” As far as I knew Preston didn’t care, or want to know about his targets.

“No one wants someone dead unless they did something.”

Alright, that was a fair point. “He attacked someone.”

“The same someone you want to break the contract for?”

How did he…

“Yes.” I said while looking around for possible hidden cameras.

Was he watching me? Preston was the stalker type, and I was supposed to marry his daughter.

“Alright,” he sighed. “How much you want it to hurt?”

That one was easy. “As much as possible.”
