“Do it, do it, do it.” Ruby chanted while dancing across her branch.
I sat there staring at her with my mouth open. Either fate was fucking with me, or I should take that as a sign.
Ruby reached the top of her branch and screeched loudly at me, “Do it.”
“Okay,” I scoffed. “Calm down. I’ll go ask him.”
Worst case scenario, I could blame it on the bird. That logic seemed great until I knocked on Vahn’s door.
The rapping of my knuckles rang through my head, making my gut swirl with nerves. I would’ve ran away, if Vahn didn’t open the door so quickly. Seeing him standing there with nothing but a towel on had me frozen in place.
“What do you want Emma?”
What did I want? I couldn’t remember. The world beyond his abs had disappeared.
“Are you just going to stand there?”
Yes? No? Maybe? Speak Goddamnit!
“Cam show.”
That one was worthy of a slow clap. The damn bird spoke better than me.
Vahn’s brow arched. “What?”
“I mean.” I cleared my throat and my thoughts. “What are you doing?”
Yeah, that wasn’t much better.
Vahn’s chest huffed with a sigh. “Jerking off, why you wanna help?”
“Kinda.”
Wait, did I say that out loud?
“Ugh,” I snorted and gave him an exaggerated eyeroll. “No. I want you to make me come.”
My eyes went wide as I slapped my hands over my mouth. Where the hell did that come from?
“I didn’t mean to say that.” I muttered through my hands.
“Uh huh.” Vahn smirked and leaned his shoulder against the door frame.
Smug bastard. There was no point in beating around the bush. I may as well just ask him.
Mustering all my strength, I dropped my hands and said, “Will you do a show with me?”
If he was surprised by my request, he didn’t show it. “What kind of show?”
“It’s this calendar thing…”
“Is this that Victoria Day thing you been muttering about.”
Muttering about? “How do you know about that?”
“You talk to the bird when you think no one’s around.”
I do? Huh. I was going to have to watch that. “Will you do it or not?”
