“Oh my God,you’ve brought out a side of Eden I didn’t know existed,” I said, laughing, when we were back in the SUV.
Jamison sniffed while checking the rearview mirror as he backed out of the garage. “Oh yeah?”
“Yes. And she wanted to do me just so she could do you. She even eye mugged my tits.” I shook my head. “Women must throw themselves at you like that all the time. I sort of saw it when we worked together on Spence’s campaign.” I punched him lightly on his solid bicep. “The ladies love Jamison Cox.”
Jamison pressed the brake and turned to dazzle me with his fiery brown eyes. “I only care about the love of one lady since the day we met.”
His persistent eye contact, which he was very good at, took my breath away. “What a lucky girl.”
“Woman,” he said. “She’s all fucking woman. And I’ve been distracted by her tits too.”
I took a cursory glance at his magnificent bulge. My heart jumped into my throat, and need gripped my pussy. Jamison delicately pinched my lower lip before leaning over to suck it into his moist and delicious mouth. Then he softly consumed my tongue. I moaned into his mouth before turning my face to cease our kissing. My desire for him was becoming more than I could bear.
“I can’t be your assistant anymore,” he whispered, his lips remaining near the side of my face. “It was hard not being able to kiss you whenever I wanted. And since we are an item, I can kiss you whenever I want, right?”
I smiled, and my head felt dizzy as I closed my eyes to consider what he’d just said. “We’re an item?”
“It’s what I want. Is it what you want?”
I nodded and turned back toward his mouth. “Mmm…” He smelled divine, and the warmth emanating from his skin put me in a daze. Like magnets, our mouths merged.
Knock, knock, knock.
I jumped and pressed my hand over my heart as we both looked to see Dale standing at Jamison’s window. “What the hell’s wrong with this guy?” Jamison muttered as he calmly rolled down the window. He turned to Dale. “What?”
Dale leaned to the side so that he could get a look at me, but Jamison shifted, blocking his view. “You have to drive out so I can close the gate,” Dale said.
“That it?”
Dale remained quiet and leaned over far enough to where Jamison’s shoulder would have hit the window if he’d tried to block Dale’s view of me. “Bryn, I just wanted to say I’m sorry. That’s all.” He hustled away from Jamison’s side of the vehicle.
Dale’s apology caught us both off guard. He’d been such a dick earlier. Jamison and I stared at each other for several seconds and then laughed uncontrollably.
“What a day this has been,” I said once we’d simmered down a bit.
“It’s been unusual, that’s for sure.” He checked over his shoulder. “Let’s get the hell off the property before Eden jumps in front of the car butt naked.”
I could totally picture her doing that, which made me laugh all over again.
Finally,we were on the road and heading back to the resort. Jamison had been caught in his own thoughts for a while. I wondered if he wanted to take back his affirmation of the two of us being an item. He appeared more sober with his eyes glued to the road. He was holding my hand while maneuvering the steering wheel with his other hand, but he was leaning away from me.
“How long were you with that guy again?” Jamison asked out of the blue.
I sighed with relief. At least I knew what had been on his mind. “A long time.”
Jamison glanced at me then set his eyes back on the road. “How long is a long time?”
“I was sixteen when I met Dale. We had a strange off-and-on relationship. My father didn’t approve of him.”
“But what did Jasper think of him?”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “Why do you ask?”
“Isn’t he the one who’s always called the shots in your family?”
My frown deepened. “Did you learn that from the book?”
“Some, but everybody knows that. You don’t fuck with Jasper Christmas. That’s probably why, as wealthy as you are, you’re able to fly commercial.”
