Queenie supported herself against the glass, throwing her legs over his shoulders. When he shifted and stood upshe squealed and tugged at his hair. Boyd thought it was rather amusing, chuckling to himself as he licked over her pussy.
“Relax,” he purred like a proud lion, his tongue dipping into her and twirling in his own release. Her head rolled back, and she gently massaged his scalp. Boyd only peered up through her thighs once he was sure she was clean. “I willneverget enough of you.”
Carefully, Boyd readjusted himself, letting her slide down his chest. Her thighs hugging his waist, she nuzzled into his throat. “Please don’t, because I can’t see my future without you.”
Boyd carried her into the bathroom, where he ran a steaming bubble bath for them both.
“Did you mean that?” he asked when they’d settled in the water, his voice quivering. “That you can’t see yourself without me.”
“I did.” Thank God the tub was big enough for her to turn in his arms and kneel between his knees. “When I see you, my heart fills with joy and it tingles all the way to my toes. I might be tired, frustrated, or exhausted but the moment I walk towards you it all vanishes. In so little time you have swept me off my feet and stolen my heart and I never want it back, because life with you is all I ever want.”
“Queenie—”
She silenced him by cupping his jaw, placing her thumb over his lips. “I know it’s fast, but you have shown me everything I could ever dream of. You may not have been love at first sight, but it comes pretty damn close. My feelings are pretty big and I can’t even wrap my own head around them, so I don’t need you to say anything in return. Not yet. I just want you to know that if you let me, I’m hereand I will walk by your side for as long as you let me.”
His hand laid over hers and he leaned in, holding her by the side of her neck and resting his forehead against hers. “I love you.”
Tears creeping down her cheeks, she caught his lips in a salty kiss. “I love you too.”

Weeks passed, with their relationship strengthening by the minute. Queenie was his light at the end of a long work day, and she didn’t skimp on the flowers or surprise lunches. As it was, he still loved the appreciative texts when he returned the favour. She often spent the weekends with him, even if he had to work. If he was in his office, she could be found in his giant bathtub, recharging for the week ahead.
Likewise, he was comfortable popping up at her place when he needed a pick me up. She would work on Maggie’s blanket or create some other wonderful thing out of what seemed to be thin air. He loved watching her be creative. And secretly, he’d already found a sewing machine similar to hers for her birthday.
That day he showed up a little early, parking his truck and taking a leisurely stroll up to her apartment. He was about to knock when the door opened and Queenie bumped into his chest, distracted by searching through her purse.
“Oh!” She froze looking up at him with wide eyes. “I didn’t see you there.”
“Clearly.” With a smirk, he embraced her in a hug and gave her a kiss to her forehead.
She squeezed him and locked the door, taking the arm he offered. “I’ve been so nervous all day.”
“Why would you be?”
“Our parents meeting is a big deal. What if they don’t get along?”
“Do you really believe that’s going to happen?”
She rested her cheek against his bicep and shrugged. “No, but I feel it just makes it all so much more official.”
When Boyd looked down to help her into the truck, he noted her outfit and had her twirl for him instead. “I’ve never seen this one before.”
She looked down at herself, “You like it?”
“You look stunning.”
“I made it.”
His jaw dropped. As he took in the dark blue fabric and the golden stitches on the hem of the skirt, he realised he’d evenseenher work on it. He lifted the edge of her dress and let his thumb run over the golden accents. “Is this the thread that gave you such a hard time?”
“Same colour but a different brand. It worked better with the machine.”
“I love it!” He spun her again, nice and slow, letting his fingers run over the fabric, absolutely mesmerised that she’d made it with her own two hands. “You are so damn talented. It looks amazing.”
“You’re making me blush.”
“You deserve it.” He kissed her temple and then held the door for her to step up. “You have to promise me that I’ll see you wearing this more often.”
