Taking Morgan up on his offer to stay the night didn’t take too long. By Tuesday, she already missed him enough to book herself into his suite for the night. She had the evening shift that day and with a live concert happening in the square, she was plenty busy.
Morgan waited for her at the entrance of his apartment building with Blue by his side. “You two look handsome as ever.”
“Ruby, darlin’,” he drawled. His words made her heart flutter and sent a tingle all the way to her toes. Morgan spread his arms wide, and she happily accepted the invitation, hugging him around the waist and resting her cheek against his chest. “You must be exhausted. Let’s get you upstairs and cosy.”
Morgan gave her a tight squeeze, then took her hand and led her inside. She’d dropped her bag off that morning, and it waited for her just inside the door.
“I saved you some dinner and if you like, I can run you a hot bath.”
“I feel so spoiled.”
“You’re supposed to, darlin’.”
“Will you finally tell me what’s going on with your brother?” She’d casually asked him about it Sunday evening, but Morgan had said it was something he wanted to discuss in person. And although she didn’t know Alexander that well, she’d been worried, despite Morgan’s assurance that his brother was fine.
“Of course.”
She changed into her pyjamas and insisted she wanted to watch him work on his Legos as she ate, since Morgan had already eaten dinner with his brothers for a business meeting.
“Alexander introduced us to hisboyfriend.”
“Oh, how exciting! Did you like him?”
“I did.”
“When did they meet?”
“They started dating six months ago, and he’s kept the entire thing a secret—including his bisexuality.”
“Wait! You didn’t know?”
“We didn’t.” Morgan clicked his next brick into place then turned to her, arms crossed. “I have to say I was a little upset that he didn’t tell us sooner.”
“Of course you are. The three of you seem so tightly knitted that I’m sure it feels a little like a betrayal. I’d feel the same if my brothers kept something like that from me.”
“I never thought I gave him reason to be scared to tell us anything.”
“I can’t put myself in his shoes, but there are so many horror stories of people coming out that maybe he was scared of rejection even though he knows you love him. How did Manuel handle it?”
Morgan chuckled and shook his head. “Mad that I found out an hour before him. Oh, and that he kept trying to set Alexander up for the past few months.”
“Poor him.”
“There is something else I would like to confess to you.”
“And I will listen.”
“My brothers know about my kinks—about the dominance and submission. Naturally, they assume that we take part in it too. I haven’t talked about us in particular, but they know me far too well. They might make comments, and I would like for you to tell me if you get uncomfortable so I can shut it down.”
“It’s going to be so embarrassing, my face is already red and they aren’t even in the room.”
“I will be sure to keep them in check, but I wanted you to know I have not talked about anything private with them. But I have in the past, so they’re aware of my… hobbies.”
“Oh, god.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Please don’t apologise. I know how brothers can be, I’m just not one of those girls that can have those conversations without being embarrassed.”
