The alpha inside me screams all the louder. He wants to rip apart the world. I close my eyes and breathe, letting that wildness spiral through me.

“It depends who took her,” Connor says quietly.

My phone buzzes and every one of us is alert in an instant.

“Yes,” I grunt, pressing my phone onto speaker.

“We’ve found the footage, Sir.” I sigh so loudly in relief, I think the fucking building must shake. “Sending it over to you now.”

“Good,” I say, opening it up on my laptop as soon as it pings into my inbox.

I increase the size and twist the screen around so that everyone can see.

The footage is grainy and the parking lot dark, but we see a black SUV with darkened windows waiting by the stairwell in the lot.

For several seconds nothing happens, and Nate bounces on his toes in irritation.

Then the stairwell door crashes open and we see three people. One tall and large, another smaller, and the third one slumped between them.

“That’s her,” Hardy announces like any one of us would have failed to recognize our girl.

“She looks like she’s out cold,” Connor mumbles, as the other two figures bundle her into the back of the car and slam the doors. We watch as the two figures climb into the front seats.

“A man and a woman,” I say.

“Dr. Hannah and Dr. Machin,” Axel says with a growl. “What the fuck are they doing?”

“He’s an alpha,” Angel spits out, “maybe he’s planning to claim her for himself.”

I shake my head. That doesn’t seem right to me.

On screen, the car lights flick on and then the car skids away. I freeze the frame as the rear of the car comes into view.

It’s blurry but I can read it.

“We have a registration number,” I tell the others.

It’s not an address, but it’s one step closer.

“How’s that going to help?” Nate mumbles.

I smirk at him, then jump back on the phone to my team. I already have them sifting through any piece of information about the two doctors that I can; now I’m going to have them hacking into the city’s CCTV system and tracking down this goddamn car.

“You think you’ll find the location?” Axel asks.

“Damn sure,” I say, with a nod. “Time to get suited up, boys. Where’s your equipment, Axel?”

I’ve never been inside Pack York’s apartment before. The bust up between the two brothers happened long before either of our packs made our money and established our homes.

I thought the place would be tacky as hell. Full of all the latest gadgets and photos of topless girls pinned to every wall. That’s how Axel’s room had been back in the day. Nate’s too. I guess things have changed. There’s not one titty in sight. In fact the decor is pretty darn tasteful, if a little stark. This place is missing one thing. Just like our own. An omega. With their penchant for everything soft and snuggly.

My heart wrenches with that thought and I pick up my feet.

Pack York’s weapon room sits behind a locked door and we wait for Axel to input the code – his mom’s birthday – and the door to swing open.

We stride in, not waiting for any invitation and start loading up, adorning bullet-proof vests, and selecting our weapons of choice.

When we’re done, Axel rests his hands on Nate’s shoulders.
