She sat with Duroc so they could talk.“What’s up with the cook?”
“The cook and her mate were the onesthat jumped into the circle.They seem to be waiting for theirpunishment.”
“I need a cook, so I need to know ifshe’s any good.Tell her to work for lunch and supper.There’s helpfor her, but I’ll probably get a professional cook too.”
“Okay.An issue though is money.Idon’t want to hire someone we can’t afford.Damon should have someidea of where the money is and someone, we can get to gain controlof what we need.It’s not like he didn’t plan this.”Durocexplained.
“Talking about me?”Damon walked inwith Marissa and an amused look on his face.
It was clear to Bindi now that Damonwas orchestrating many of these takeovers and she had heard ofseveral.She couldn’t deny his machinations were improving the wolfworld and eventually Duroc and she might even appreciate what hadhappened.That didn’t help them right now.
“Yes, and how you managed to getexactly what you wanted.”
“The council wanted this.But don’tget upset.I have a list of people you’ll need that can help.Youare new atto this.Not running a pack, but new at taking over onethat has been poorly run.First let me assure you that there is alarge amount of money in the pack account.Next, I must also tellyou some of the people in charge shouldn’t be.Get rid of youraccountant.Bindi may have to take charge for a while.She did thebooks when she worked at a café.Look around at your people, youhave several that were treated poorly that are smart and able to dothese jobs with a bit of training.Several alphas have alreadyoffered to send you help.Word gets out quickly.I’ll give you alist of them also.”
“That will help.”Durocadmitted.
“As far as a cook goes, you haveseveral good candidates here that need a bit of training or schoolif your tastes are more gourmet.Bindi doesn’t have the time to dothe cooking often.Alpha bitch work will keep her busy.”
“I think I saw Harry outside flirtingwith a group of guys.”Marissa mentioned.
“Why don’t we go get her?”Bindisuggested and they left Damon and Duroc to talk.
“It is already lunchtime.Let’s checkon the kitchen first then find Harry.”
“You’re right.We need to make surethey are ready for her.”
Naturally they weren’t.Everything wasin disarray.No one was using the dishwasher which was actually alarge commercial one.Bindi immediately grabbed a teenager andshowed her how to run it.Then she got another and told him to washhis hands and start taking out the dishes and putting them up.Everything was here to do what was needed since all theseappliances were the large commercial kind.The lack was in thehelp.Most of these people had no idea how to do any of these jobs,but that could be remedied.
“Let’s go get Harry now.”Bindisuggested.
Marissa headed out in front of her.There was Harry surrounded by most of the single guys in the pack.“Hey there, Mati Hari.”
“You talking to me?”Harryasked.
“Yup, you.We need to get to work.”Bindi observed.
“What exactly do you need?”
“We’ll cover that privately, butmeanwhile you know the background.Let’s see what we can feed youbefore we get to work.”
“I love you Bindi.You know what’simportant.”
“I know it’s lunch now, but I put backa plate for breakfast.That I’ll get out and heat foryou.”
Bindi did just that and there was atable in the kitchen that they sat at.A commercial coffee makerprovided a cup of coffee for each of them.While Harry atebreakfast, Bindi helped catch upup on the dishes.Once that wasdone, Harry was still hungry, so she got her some lunch anddessert.
“Have you had enough?”Bindiasked.
“For now.So, what do wedo?”
“I need a protective spell on thishouse so Duroc and I can sleep in peace.While we have Marissa is agood time.Does it cover those already in the house if they havebad intentions?”
“Yes.”Harry and Marissa saidtogether.
“Good.Where do we need togo?”
“Anywhere will work, but why don’t wego outside?”Marissa suggested.
