“Oh, my Lilith. What did you just do?” I moaned. “That’s never happened to me with a vampire before.”
He just grinned.
“You’ve been with some selfish vampires then. Our bite can be extremely erotic if we want it to be. How are you feeling?”
How was I feeling? Fucking amazing. I grabbed him and pulled him down to kiss me. I wasn’t quite ready to have sex with him yet, but in a way what we had done was much more intimate. And Balthazar could kiss too.
He pulled away from me, and his eyes were glowing red.
“As much as I want to continue this, I’ve learned a few things about the witch, Silvaria. We should go back to the others. Your magic tastes wonderful, Ripley.”
Right. Silvaria and Dorian. I couldn’t turn into a horny trollop until this was all over. Focus, Ripley.

he guys weren’t idle while I was off with Balthazar. They were in my living room. Felix had pulled some of Professor Krauss’s curse books I owned down. He and Gabriel were pouring through them. I expected to find Reyson eating and watching television again, but he wasn’t. He was back in the window, zoned out again. What was he doing?
Reyson cracked his eyes open when I came into the room and smiled when he saw me.
“Hello, my witch. I can’t find the Hellhound. I think he’s in Hell. I’ve located the witch and the human. They appear to be having covert meetings with people who have made deals with demons. The witch is in France, and the human is in Hungary. That’s why they haven’t come back here yet.”
“What? Why?”
“Cuddle pile!” Balthazar yelled, flinging me on the sectional.
I swear, you give a guy a little blood.
He spooned my back and rubbed his face into my hair. I wasn’t complaining. I liked this. I just hoped he didn’t pop a boner and end up in pain again.
“I can answer that,” Balthazar said.
“Silvaria is supposedly traveling for the board acquiring books for the library. She’s been posting on some really dark web forums under an alias trying to find people that have made deals with demons. She’s not really saying why. I think all that is being said in person.”
“So is Dorian,” Reyson said. “I found him with a shifter. He wasn’t saying why, but he was trying to coax it from her that she made the deal.”
“Why are they trying to find all these people who made deals?” Gabriel said. “Are there a lot of them?”
“More than I suspected. The dark web is the dark web. There’s no shame there and everything is anonymous. A lot of people will cop to it but won’t give any other information. Some people are asking for information on how to make their own deals. Silvaria is promising something better. She’s posting that she has access to something that can grant them anything their heart desires without having to sell their soul. I’m guessing she means Reyson.”
“Silly witch. I’ll eat her alive,” Reyson boomed.
Stupid witch was more like it. If she showed up here and tried to boss Reyson around, he was going to get blood all over my library. None of this made sense though.
“If they raised Reyson as an alternative to demon deals, why are they trying to market this towards people that have already dealt with demons? Most sane people know to stay away from demons but wouldn’t have a problem asking a god for something because it doesn’t involve your soul, or at least, history says it doesn’t.”
Reyson just shrugged.
“Something else I saw. Dorian thinks Hettie and her coven are babysitting me but he’s getting frustrated he can’t reach her by phone. He’s feeling the pull to come back here, but he’s trying to ignore it. I heard him make a phone call to Silvaria. They seem to think I’m a docile god who would be content to be spoiled by hedge witches. They know who I am. They specifically looked for my vessel, but they seem to think a few hedge witches and sex can contain chaos.”
Reyson was so butt hurt but throw in some Oreos, Starbucks, and filthy books and you could keep him occupied for a good long while. I was trying not to laugh because I’d seen him turn someone into a roach for offending him.
“The hedges witches know Dorian wanted Hettie to raise a god, but they don’t know why. They are trying to find a way to help so they don’t end up collateral damage in all of this. They are fairly certain she’s dead,” Balthazar said.
Reyson puffed his chest up.
