Fear and uncertainty cloud Iris’s eyes. She thinks I’m mad at her.
I’m mad all right but not at her. Who the fuck dared to cause her so much injury?
There’s no way it was Julian or one of my brothers. Who else would dare touch someone who was under our protection? Someone at the trainee dorm?
The urge to rip the culprit’s head overwhelms me.
“Can you step back?” she asks, drawing my attention back on her.
“No,” I grate out through clenched teeth. She doesn’t mind Julian pawing all over her. I want her to be the same with me too.
My fingers dig into her silky strands.
Her eyes widen as I lean in close. “What’re you doing?” she whispers in a strained voice.
I answer her by meeting her lips with mine. My grip on her hair tightens, urging her to open up to me.
My tongue sweeps in the moment she opens up. I close my eyes, eagerly tasting her sweetness.
Iris moans but my hungry mouth devours the sweet, little sound.
Her hands fist my shirt as I deepen the kiss. She’s holding onto me tight as she kisses me back.
Fire zings through me, drowning my senses in a haze of lust and desire. My body presses against hers. She feels and tastes so different from Julian. The change is a welcome one and I continue to devour the little moans that escape her.
My hand grazes along her knee and swiftly sneaks inside her skirt. Deepening the kiss, I revel in the feel of her silky-smooth skin.
My hand brushes over her panties and that’s when I feel her rousing.
Iris suddenly pushes at my chest and breaks the kiss. Her thighs clench tightly, capturing my hand between them. A wild, terrified look comes over her.
“Get off me,” she says in a tense voice.
I’m breathing hard. My primal urges want me to defy her resistance and take her right here.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” she says. Her voice is laced with anxiety. She’s scared and turned on, and hates it.
“You’re the one who needs to let go,” I say, gesturing downward. Her thighs are still clenched around my hand.
A shiver shudders through her as she parts her legs.
With a sudden move, she knees me in the gut.
A grunt escapes me.
She pushes at me with all her strength, desperately trying to get me off her.
I step back, no longer wanting to scare her.
Iris wastes no time as she takes advantage of the space between us. She runs toward the door that leads into the central yard of the mansion. Opening it, she sprints outside.
I can follow her but I don’t.
I feel as shaken as her. How could I give up on all restraint so easily? What will Julian think about this?
Can he accept me having these emotions for Iris? Or did I just commit another mistake that’ll further strain our pack’s ties?
