I go up to Isabella, “Hey, Liam told me what happened.”

Max watches Elle closely but physically stays closer to Isabella, which is interesting.

“Yeah, embarrassing,” she says.

“Has anything else happened?”

“No.”

“Look, you need to be careful. This guy is escalating, Isabella. I think you should hire security.”

She smiles at Max, “We share Max.”

“Not enough. Max is one man with one set of eyes. Think about it, please.”

“I will,” she says.

“He’s not going to stop, Isabella. Not until he’s either in prison or gets what he wants from you, whatever the hell that is.”

“Mercy, I get it,” she bites.

But I don’t think she does. For some reason, I don’t think Isabella is thinking about how horrible this could get. The end result could be that he takes her life. She needs to act before that happens.

I hug her, “I just want you to be okay.”

“I know. Love you.”

“Love you too. Text you later.”

I walk over to Elle and hug her, “Text me later, alright?”

She nods, “She doesn't listen to anybody, it’s not just you.”

I get into the car and drive Ivy home. It’s been a long day filled with excitement, and it’s about five minutes before she crashes in the car.

MERCY

The Wedding Day…

Last night we stayed at a hotel, Me, Elle, Isabella, Ivy, and Max. Max had an adjoining room but checked on us every hour whether he heard any commotion or not.

Ivy is in the chair, getting her makeup done. I’ve instructed Reuben, the makeup artist, to keep her makeup minimal and very natural.

He’s already done everyone else’s makeup. We saved Ivy for last since she’s the one most likely to smudge it. She’s sitting patiently, knowing that she’ll put on her dress next.

When he finishes, he yells, “Magnificent!” As he did with all the rest of us. He’s a little over the top but very talented just the same.

As he leaves, he says, “Tell Dr. Liam, I said congratulations.”

After he leaves, Elle and Isabella crack up laughing.

“Oh stop,” I said.

It’s no secret to any of us that Reuben wants my Liam. I’d cut a bitch, besides he’s lacking the right parts for my man. When we had the consultation with him, he spent the entire hour eye-fucking Liam.

Ivy yells, “Is it time? Is it time?”
