I laugh, “It’s time.”
Elle takes my arm, “Are you doing, okay? Any jitters?”
“I’ve been in love with your brother since I was sixteen years old. I’m ready for this. No jitters, not a one.”
She smiles sweetly, “Let’s get your gown on.”
I nod.
In order not to mess up my hair and makeup, Elle very carefully puts the gown over my head, while Isabella helps Ivy get dressed.
She moves to the front of me after zipping my dress up.
“My God, Mercy, you look so beautiful. My brother is going to lose his mind.”
I giggle, “I hope so.”
The dress I picked is made of Italian silk but has a lace overlay. The plunging neckline will be what makes Liam crazy. I’m sure of it. The back is cut out into a ‘V’ with a chapel-length train.
Ivy comes over and stares at me as if I’m a Disney Princess come to life.
“You look like a princess,” she says.
“Thank you, sweet girl.”
I smile, “I have something for you.”
I reach into my bag on the couch and pull out the small tiara I had made for her.
After securing the tiara on her head, she looks in the mirror and squeals.
“All princesses need tiaras, right?”
She nods with unshed tears in her eyes. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, beautiful girl.”
After everyone is ready, it’s time to go to the Butterfly Conservatory.
We all take a limo, which I think is a little over the top, but Liam was insistent. I know he wanted to spoil me, and make me happy, so I gave in.
My phone chimes as we drive.
I get it out of my clutch, turn off the ringer and open a text message from Liam.
Daddy: I love you, baby girl. Don’t chicken out.
I roll my eyes.
Me: Oh Daddy, I wouldn’t dream of it.??????
I grin like a Cheshire cat as I put my phone away.
“I need to ditch Max and find me a man that makes me smile stupidly like that,” Elle says.
I raise an eyebrow, “Max keeps you safe.”
“He also keeps the men away,” she mutters dryly.
