“I hate the fucking system, too. But you can’t go all vigilante on me.”

“He hurt one of our girls, man.”

“Fuck. Is she okay?”

“Yeah,” Fury said.

“Is the guy dead yet?”

“Maybe,” Fury said. “Maybe not.”

“Dammit. What do you need from me?” Ben asked.

“We’re going to gather as much information about him as possible. If he’s alive, do you want us to try to get the names of his victims? Places he’s been?”

“Anything you can get me will be more than we have. This guy has been at it for ten years, thirty different agencies have looked for him, and he hasn’t been caught yet.”

“Okay. I’ll have the information in an envelope mailed to you. It’ll be anonymous and come from a different town, so you don’t have to give any names of people that might have sent it. I know they’ll question you. Or would you rather I send it to the police department in general?”

“No, me. I’ll wait for the package,” Ben said. “Make the fucker hurt.”

“Planning on it. We’ll stay in touch.”

“Don’t call for a while. I don’t know if I’ll be investigated after getting the envelope, and I don’t want you guys around.”

“We’re calling from throwaway phones and have software that causes static if anyone tries to listen to us.”

“Good. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Thanks for letting us have him.”

Ben laughed. “Did I really have a choice?”

Fury chuckled. “No.”

Ben snorted. “Talk to you later.”

Fury hung up and tossed the phone to Traeger, who dropped it to the floor and stomped it into dust.

“Since that’s taken care of, we can talk about the girls,” Fury said.

Titan groaned. Oh, this should be fun.

Chapter Twelve

“What can we do to them?” Forger asked. “They’re the ones that took this fucker off the streets. How many police departments have been looking for this guy for a decade, and our women got him? I would have never thought to check around to see if he’d done anything creepy.”

Fury cursed. “Fuck, I know. I’ve thought about that, too. What are the rest of you thinking?”

“We’ve got nothing on them besides Jada going to the girls and not us right away. But I also get where she’s coming from because of how she felt,” Dre said.

“We can’t let them think it’s okay to go to anyone but their men first,” Traeger said.

Enforcer grunted. “We’re never going to change that, man. Although they’re loyal to us, when the girls get together, it helps them think clearly and calm down before coming to us.”

He turned to Traeger. “What would you have done if she’d come crying to you and pointing at the guy saying he hurt my feelings or some shit?”

The men laughed.
