Such an asshole.
I mean, how could he do that? Had he even so much as looked at his girlfriend? She was so gorgeous, there was no way he could ever find a girl like her. Actually, I hoped he never would because he deserved some Karma for that.
Her name was Thalia, and after she had cried her soul out on Autumn’s shoulder, I offered to help fix her makeup. We had such a good conversation while I cleaned her pretty face and refreshed her makeup.
Thalia’s skin had such a beautiful shade of brown, she told me that she loved the color gold on her eyelids, so I did the best I could with the stuff she had on her to make her feel a bit better. She had told me I was an angel sent from heaven and that I had to come back every day to do her makeup. I hated lying, but it was so exciting to tell her that my major was philosophy. I hadn’t given college much thought yet, but that sounded exciting, even though I would probably pick english literature over philosophy. Writing poems helped me tidy my thoughts, but it was not like I was following any rules, I just wrote what was on my mind. It was my therapy without therapy.
“We should find your boyfriend and my nemesis, little cousin.” Autumn took both my hands and pulled me to my feet. For a second, it felt like I was flying above the ground. What a weird feeling.
Wait-
“Kayden is my best friend, not my boyfriend and Theo is your friend, not your nemesis. Now which one of us is drunk, cousin, ha!” I waved my index finger in front of her face. She only hooked her arm around mine and pulled me with her out of the bathroom, where the music grew louder again.
“The little friend of yours is trying to eat you out, my love, but let your innocent mind believe what it wants.” She giggled when we saw our friends down another cup with their arms also hooked like ours. When I as much as thought about drinking any more than the two cups I had, I felt sick. My next sip would definitely be my downfall, so no, thank you.
“Maybe I want to eat him too” I whispered in her ear so that her brown eyes went big, and she giggled excitedly.
“Then what are you waiting for, go get him, girl!” She pulled me along so fast, I almost tripped over my own feet.
“Slow down, Autumn!” I shouted.
But instead, she pushed me, really pushed me this time, so I fell over my own feet straight into two strong arms, my favorite strong arms. Being drunk is such a new experience for me. Everything felt so much easier than usual.
“You told me you would return not break your nose,” Kayden chuckled when he pulled me up together with him. My chest was pressed to his, we were locked in a tight hug.
“You caught me,” I smiled.
“I’ll always catch you, Fleur.” His eyes made me melt. He was so beautiful with his sharp features and the little scars over his eyebrow and cheekbone.
“You’re beautiful, Kayden.” The words left my mouth before I could think, but the alcohol in my system made me care less about saying the words I needed to say.
“Should I tell you a secret?” he asked, looking down at me.
“Yeah.”
“You’re the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.” His hands made their way up my back, he stroked my scalp with his fingers, and I closed my eyes and savored the moment. There was no one except us, the music was playing only for us and the little lights shone only for us.
“Kiss me, Kayden,” I whispered, opening my eyes again to meet his green ones. My hands now cupped the back of his neck, where the short black curls tickled my fingertips.
“No. Kiss me, Tillie.” He didn’t need to say any more before my lips collided with his.
The moment our lips touched, I knew that this could never be something I would regret in the future.
Kayden let me have control, even though I know he had done this before. He let me control how fast or intense this was going to be.
And it was unforgettable. His lips moved with mine like a dance, but the melody we danced to was our desire.
When he kissed me, I felt like my legs were about to give up.
A small moan escaped me that died down in our kiss.
Our bodies almost melted together. We held on tightly, as if the wind would take the bird away again otherwise.
But right here at this moment there was
no wind,
no fears,
