“It’s the dinner bell.It goes through the whole house. It’s better than the staff having to say it over the speaker. They never know when the guys are in a meeting, so they don’t want to disrupt them.”
“That makes sense.”
Sara pulled her up.“Come on, and I’ll show you the dining room.I usually have a glass of wine.Do you like it?”
“Yes.I don’t get it often,” Nala said.
Nala followed Sara into the dining room, and her mouth dropped before she snapped it shut. The room was beautiful, and the table was set with china and crystal. It was good enough for a real princess.
“White or red?”Sara asked.
Nala walked to her against the far wall, where there were several bottles of alcohol and glasses.
“White is fine.”Sara handed her a glass.“Thank you.”
“Come here.I want to show you the view from the big window.”
Nala’s first glance made her eyes widen.“It looks like a picture with all the flowers.”
Sara laughed.“I thought the same thing.”
“I wish I could paint.”
Sara nodded and took a drink from her glass.
Someone clearing his throat had them turn around. Her first glance at Drew made the air get trapped in her throat. The way he was looking at her made her body heat. Her nipples got hard, and her panties were getting wet just from the look.
“Sara, come sit, Baby,” Ethan said and held the chair out to her.
Nala swallowed as she watched Drew stalk toward her. When he was in front of her, almost touching, he stared down at her.
She would never forget this moment of heated awareness in his gaze.It was almost like he’d found his favorite candy, and she was it.
Chapter Fourteen
Drew walked with Ethan toward the dining room, where he was told his woman was.The first thing he saw was Sara across the room and another woman standing with her back to him.He was shocked at Nala’s transformation, and he hadn’t even seen the front of her.
Ethan cleared his throat, gaining both girls’ attention. His breath caught in his throat. Her hair was dark, which brought out the color of her eyes more—the dress she had on hugged her curves without being tight. She had some color on her face, making him think they’d been out in the sun a bit that day.It was just enough to put a healthy sheen to her complexion.
He walked toward her and stared down at her.“You look beautiful, Sweetheart.”
He smiled when a blush covered her face.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
“Did you have fun today with Sara?”
Nala nodded.“She’s wonderful.”
“I’m glad you two are getting along so well because you’ll be spending a lot of time together.”
“I think we’ll be fine.”
“Good.”He held out his hand.“Come sit beside me.”
She nodded.
He led her to the chair but stopped her with a hand on her shoulder.“First, tell me what your name is?”Even though he already knew it, he wanted her to tell him voluntarily.
