“Kill him.”
Drew snorted.“Maybe we can try something less violent right now.If it comes down to it, he can be persuaded to sell.Alastair wants this specific warehouse.”
“Why?”Gavin asked.
“I’m not sure. Are we ever sure what the man does?”
Gavin laughed.“No.But it always works in our favor.”
“That’s correct.Meet with him today and tell him we’ll sell at the original price.Take more men with you.It might intimidate him.Or you could have a birdy inform the prick he’s dealing with.”
Gavin nodded and stood.“I’ll get it done.”
“How are you?”Drew asked before his brother reached the door.
“Good.You?”
Drew almost rolled his eyes.He could never get anything out of this man.“We need to set up a dinner for the three of us and Ethan’s woman this week.We haven’t eaten a meal together in weeks.”
“Tell me when.”
Drew stared at the door his brother had just closed and wondered if there was something else he could do to heal Gavin.
Drew returned to work and was interrupted again in an hour by his man watching the woman.
“Boss, she left the grocery store and is back in her apartment.”
“Good.Have someone come and take your place so you can go home and rest.I’ll have John send someone.I want her watched all the time.”
“I got it, Boss.I’ll wait here for my replacement.”
“Good.”Drew hung up.He thought he would wait until the cameras were in to see her place, but he wanted to see it firsthand.
“John, I’ll go with you to her place.I’d like to see it up close.”
“You got it.We’ll wait in the driveway at nine tonight.”
“Good.”
Chapter Four
He got a few more hours at his desk while waiting for her to go to work.
At nine, he met up with John and another security guy in the few cars that were waiting.
“I’m going to drive separately,” he told them when he met them outside.“I’m thinking about going to the club tonight after.”
“All right,” John said.“This shouldn’t take long.”
Drew slid into the back of the limo and was not surprised to see his three main men there. He was never able to leave home without them very easily. He tried to sneak off, but most of the time, they found him. He’d gotten angry a few times, but they always reminded him that the Macleans had a lot of enemies, and they were there to watch his back.
“Are we going back to the club?”Manny asked.
“Eventually. We’re going to make a stop at the woman’s place.I’m having John set up cameras.”
The driver pulled up behind the car John was using and got out.“I’ll be back, guys. The less activity around her place, the better.”
He didn’t wait.He didn’t have to.He knew they would do what they were told.At least most of the time.
